THE VICTORIOUS PRESIDENT'S TEAM
Ade Leitch’s President’s team were too strong for Neil Leeder’s Captain’s team in the inaugural Trips Challenge Match with wins in 4 out of 5 rinks and the top points score giving them a convincing 10 - 2 win. Congratulations and we look forward to doing it again in 2025.
ANDALUCIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS - ZURGENA MEDALISTS
Neil Leeder, Julie Mason and Shootsie
Finals day at the Andalucian Championships at Indalo and a fantastic display of bowling from all the finalists. Player of the tournament was our very own Shootsie who retained two of the titles he won last year. With new partner Neil Leeder, the Zurgena duo beat Chris Ewer and John Fitzpatrick (ALBC) to take the coveted gold medal in the Men's Pair event. Shootsie then played Mark Naylor (ALBC) in the Men's Singles final and with a flawless performance he took his second gold medal of the day winning 21-9. But the real star of the tournament was Julie Mason who had a superb week and a great final losing narrowly to Debbie Colqhoun (Indalo) to take a silver medal in the Ladies Singles. With the events of the last two weeks, Julie has shown a real strength of character defeating several Spanish International players. We are very proud of Julie's achievements in the championships and Julie, Tony would have been so proud of you. Thank you to the organisers, umpires, markers and all the Indalo volunteers for an enjoyable week of bowling

MESSAGE FROM THE FINALISTS: I'm so pleased we put on a show today. Paul and I would like to dedicate this match to our friend and fellow bowls colleague Tony Mason. He was a true gentleman and fantastic bowler who had just this year got his first cap for his adopted country Spain while playing in Scotland. He will be sorely missed.
