RULES
Games will be played in line with Crystal Marks 4th Edition where not covered below.
1. This is a round robin tournament with teams in two groups, playing each other over two days. Each game will consist of 7 ends or 1 hours play whichever is the shorter.
2. A bell will start the game and be rung again at the end of 1 hour. The jack may be cast and centred before the bell is rung. Any end in progress (i.e. jack set) when the 1-hour bell is rung can be completed.
3. 3 pts will be awarded for each game won, 2 pts for a draw and 1 pt for each end won. The group winners will be the team with the most points. In the event of a draw shot difference will determine the winner. If still a tie, then count back on ends won will come into force.
4. The group winners will play each other in the final to determine the overall winner. In the event of a tie after 7 ends or 1 hours play a 1 end tie break will take place with the toss of a coin deciding who has the mat.
5. No trial ends.
6. In the first end of each game only 1 shot can be scored.
7. In the event of a DEAD END the jack will be placed on the 2-metre T and play will continue. Should the 2-metre T be occupied by a bowl, then the jack shall be placed in-line between the mat and the 2-metre T as near as possible thereto, but not touching the bowl.
8. There will be no visiting of the head.
9. Score cards must be signed and timed by both skips and returned immediately to the competition organiser.
10. Late arrivals. All games will start at the appointed times. Any team not available at the start time will forfeit 1 end, 2 points and 2 shots to the opposing team immediately. If the team is still not available 10 minutes after the start time, then 4 ends, 3 points and 6 shots will be awarded to their opponents and that round will be considered played.
11. Players may change their positions of play during the competition but not during individual games.
12. All substitutes to be agreed by the organisers.
13. The competition organisers reserve the right to amend the programme as well as the rules at any time should it become apparent that changed circumstances have compromised fair play.
